The Banks County Jail is located in the city of Homer, Georgia. Male and female inmates are housed at the facility. The Banks County Sheriff’s Office maintains order, enforces the law, investigates crimes, house inmates, and provides court services. Sheriff’s Office Bureaus
The sheriff’s office is comprised of three bureaus: Administration Division, Field Operations Bureau, and Headquarters Bureau.
The Administrative Division is comprised of the Public Information Office, Business Office, Chief Deputy, Office of the Sheriff, and Office of Professional Standards and Training. The division is responsible for the overall administration of the agency and the management of policies and procedures, finances, human resources, public relations, and additional duties.
Since the Field Operations Bureau oversees the deputies who come into frequent contact with the public, it is the most visible bureau of the agency.
Finally, the Headquarters Bureau oversees all court and jail operations within the county.

About the County / Banks County Inmate Search
The county is located in the northeastern part of the state of Georgia. In 1858, the Georgia General Assembly passed a law creating the county, which it named for Dr. Richard E. Banks.
