Visitation Procedure

  • The receptionist will check each visitor in and confirm their name, address, relationship to the inmate, the inmate’s name they will be visiting, as well as their arrival and departure times. When the inmate has visitors, the receptionist will let the Tower Control Officer know who they are and what they are there for (law enforcement, legal counsel, family, etc.). The ISO assigned to the housing unit will be notified by the tower control officer, and the receptionist will escort the visitor to the proper visitation area and station.
  • The jail lobby will use digital signage to display a visitor schedule as well as general visitation policies and information. Additionally, these guidelines are included in the inmate handbook, so prisoners should familiarize themselves with them. The following rules must be followed at all times during visitation by both visitors and prisoners. The visit may also involve young children under the age of six who are the inmate’s children.
  • The front jail lobby clerk will print a copy of a visiting schedule at the start of each shift and give it to the watch commander, the housing Corporal, Classification, and both tower control officers.

Visitation Rules

The following rules apply to all visits:

  • An inmate may have a maximum of two adult visitors present at any one time. Unless otherwise authorized by the Watch Commander or his/her designee, visits with prisoners are limited to three 25-minute visits each calendar week.
  • Visitors won’t be permitted to bring anything with them back to the visitor stations. All guests are required to leave all of their personal things with members of their party who are not visiting or in their vehicles. The jail employees will not be held accountable for any guests’ goods or personal items.
  • To visit an inmate at this facility, visitors must be properly attired. The wearing of revealing apparel is prohibited. This includes tank tops, halter tops, short skirts and shorts, swimwear, see-through clothing, nightgowns, and any other attire deemed inappropriate. The Watch Commander retains ultimate discretion in deciding what is suitable.
  • Without valid identification, visitors will not be permitted to visit.
  • Cell phones of any kind are not permitted anywhere near the visitor area. Loss of visitation rights could occur from breaking this rule.
